Apparently, entertainers cannot keep politics out of their shows. Do a Google search for the concert of Linda Ronstadt at the Alladin Hotel in Las Vegas on the 17th of July. I guess when she had a Greatest Hits tour, the greatest hit might be to her pocketbook.
Reading about "Trousergate" and Sandy Berger - you just can't make this stuff up if you try. I think this falls under the category What Were You Thinking?
Those that enjoy politics and the wheeling and dealing behind it should really try the game President Forever . It is a very enjoyable game for about $12 (I think) where you can try to win your party the election.

Can we keep politics out of entertainment?
Apparently on July 8th, many entertainers (including some of my favorites Dave Matthews, Chevy Chase, John Mellencamp, and Paul Newman) were either performing or attending a "concert" benefitting the DNC and John Kerry. Whoopi Goldberg had a lovely bash Bush fest, filled with sexual inuendos and explicit lyrics.
It's apparent that Kerry/Edwards ticket are going to be supported by many of the Hollywood elite (except Dennis Miller and The Governator). That's fine and dandy, but it makes me question if some of these performances are indicative of the family values that were being touted by Kerry and Edwards.
You decide for yourself. Reports are as follows:
MSNBC
Again...it looks like the Campaign Finance Reform has worked so well, as both sides are raising an increased amount of money, both Hard and Soft (with groups like moveon.org). Ridiculous....no wonder it is rare a minor party presidential candidate has a chance.
While I am miffed, I love how many Democrats are still bitter about the election 4 years ago. I don't think some of them either understand how the electoral college works, or that every sane recount of Florida shows Bush would have still won the election. And...if Gore could have carried his home state of Tennessee, he would have won with or without Florida.

Another Random Thought...
What ever possessed anyone to give Jim Rome his own TV show. There are many more knowledgeable and less annoying people in this world, but they don't have their own TV series.

Ah....so the "Illustrious" John Kerry chooses John Edwards as his running mate.
Methinks that the Democrats got the order wrong....
Did I ever say how BORING Kerry sounds. I think that he has the charisma of belly button lint. I asked my wife what the first thing that came to mind when I said "John Kerry's charisma"...her response - "lack". Forget Ritalin...His speeches could put most "ADHD" children to sleep.
ADHD....another subject I have doubts about, but that is for another blog.

Coach K stays at Duke. At least there is hope for college basketball. A great basketball icon like Coach K helps the continuity and profile of college basketball.
Maybe players will start following suit.

Did I ever mention how much service at resort restaurants sucks? They make you pay automatically for the gratuity (tip) and you get consistently poor service, since they are already guarenteed their income.
But, we would recommend the Helmsley Sandcastle in Sarasota to most people. Just don't get stuck in a corner room near the pool...everything echoes to your room.
