Election Thoughts - Part 2

Well, I am glad the election is over in less than 48 hours. I was somewhat surprised about the national percentage that Bush got, but Nicole was not. She said, and probably rightly so, that the country would not vote against a "wartime" president. For all the weaknesses of Senator Kerry as a candidate, he was a gracious loser (unlike his predecessor) and hopefully that will do well to calm down the very upset and irate in his own party.

I was surprised that the Republicans were able to pull a net of 4 seats in the Senate. With Daschle gone, we might have a chance that something will be done in the Congress without the threat of the eternal filibuster.

No relief in the politics of lefty land of Alachua County, but that is now to be expected.
